I don't know a lot about ladybugs. I have seen really red ones and some orange looking ones. But the fact that yesterday there were two in the part of my bathroom where my shower is and today there were four tells me that there must be some sort of ladybug festival going on here in the vacant lot next door to my studio. The window in the shower portion of my bathroom is cracked open, it just won't shut all the way. I am guessing the friendly lady bugs made their way in the other night when it was a bit chilly. Just in case you didn't know--bugs anywhere in the house freak me out. It is all I can do to contain myself to stop and figure out if it's a poisonous bug or critter before I stomp it with a shoe. I may have grown up with three boys playing tricks on me with the creepy crawly things-and I still do not like the sight of a crawly thing in the house. I did rescue three of the four ladybugs. I sent them right out the window from which they entered my shower closet-literally--this side of the stairwell is a the linen closet with a shower and the other side is the toilet and sink. If the fourth is there tomorrow I will be obligated to send her on her way too.
That can be a good resolution--to try and determine if critters are valuable and can be set free before I squish them. They are part of the ecosystem and may have a use I am unaware of--so I'll be cautious.
May not happen every time--but I'll try to keep the shoes on the feet and off the wall.
